[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]Through seven Mexican private collections plus a selection of the museum´s collection, this exhibition seeks to show other forms of collecting not associated with art and high culture. These collections become important sets of objects with an interesting historical, communicative, symbolic and sometimes even nostalgic or monetary value. Collections of Skateboards from 1970, a collection of sneakers from 1980 to date, robots dating from 1950, a collection of hats from 1920 to 1970 or household items from the late 19th century to 1950s, are some of the collections that make up this innovative exhibition, which enables us to understand art and design in a new way. The objects displayed establish dialogues that allow us to understand the art of collecting and how collections are interpreted in a society ruled by consumer products. But it also ventures into hobbies, personalities, interests and diverse ways of seeing and interpreting the world and everyday life, not only of collectors but of the spectators who approach them.
