Psychiatric wards and prisons

This program started in 2016 and has had yearly shows in our museum. The project, carried out by the artist Ricardo Caballero inside the psychiatric wards in detention centers for men and women. (CEVAREPSI, for men and Centro Femenil de Reinserción Social, Tepepan, for women). Each year the work of the inmates revolves around some of the objects in our collection and at the end of the process, we host an exhibition with the pieces created by them.

This is a way in which these men and women find inspiration and motivation, as well as an outlet of thoughts, ideas and emotions. It is also a way for them to escape the prison walls and make contact with the outside world to make themselves be seen and heard by the rest of the population.
