ABOUT US<\/h3>\n

Have you ever observed an object and wondered about its life and the lives of the people who used it? Have you ever wondered who imagined, designed and produced it? How did a can of soup, the photo of the funeral of a dead child or the twelve wigs of a famous vedette end up in a museum?<\/p>\n

What do objects tell us when we look at them and ask them the right questions?<\/p>\n

MODO, The Purpose of the Object Museum, opened in 2010, and since then has told stories through artifacts that have accompanied daily life in our country for over 200 years. Using the more than 140 thousand objects of its collection, the museum has made a historical review of Mexico since the beginning of the 19th century: cultural, aesthetic and social movements, technological development, trends and changes in ways of thinking and of relating to the world.<\/p>\n

Valuable and brave objects are grouped by themes and displayed in temporary exhibitions in order to show and live those special moments that, through love and nostalgia, are stored in the memory of many of us.

THE BUILDING AND NEIGHBORHOOD<\/h3>\n

MODO\u00b4s<\/strong> headquarters are located in Roma, a residential district developed at the beginning of the 20th century, in a house built in 1906 which is one of the eight still preserved buildings in Mexico City classified as example of Art Nouveau.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Set just a few miles away from the down town area, Roma neighborhood has become a zone with a good mix of residential areas with cultural centers, galleries, design stores and art studios, as well as some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. The influx of young people interested in art and design has grown considerably and has made this area one of its meeting and exploration points. A great restoration and recovery work of the historical heritage has rescued the ancestral Roma creating an important center of artistic manifestations of Mexico City.<\/p>\n

MODO<\/strong> is tightly linked to a socially conscious community that loves culture and is committed to its city.
